If you know me, you may know that creating some sort of blog has been on my heart for some time. You may know that I have been trying to create a website and begin a business for my art to grow into my full-time passion.
But, time just seems to keep marching on despite whatever efforts I put into it. I don't think I'm embarrassed by that even though I'm sure some might not understand the lacking results.
Sometimes it's better to wait.
Sometimes it's better to do nothing.
Sometimes in the quiet, you learn of a better way.
I'm learning there are some things I don't have the capacity for in this season. I'm learning it's better to wait for the right people to be brought into certain areas.
I'm learning to seek intimacy with Jesus above everything else.
To go back to the beginning of why I started writing in the first place.
To write because of Him and not for a brand or whatever I have planned.
To make it just about me and him again.
I'm learning to seek intimacy during the mundane day-in, day-out rhythms and to create beauty out of an average day, not just on canvas.
And as every business coach with sound advise says, "go this way, do this thing" - I quietly hear whispers to forget that and be and believe something else instead.
It all feels so upside down to what would work long-term and with where I want to go.
But as I've begun leaning into it, I'm already beginning to know results. Results better than I imagined and more in line with the desires my heart has longed for.
So I'm starting this blog with that. No brand or agenda. No social media or content planned. No fancy website or sales pitches.
I'm just starting with the intention of sharing my heart as the Lord directs me.
And I'm so peacefully excited. It feels so good to just do that.
Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advise of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers. But they delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night. They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit in each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do. For the Lord watches over the path of the godly, but the path of the wicked leads to destruction.
Psalm 1:1-3, 6. ESV
